Ouidah Gallery
The Ouidah art gallery is a unique blend of heritage and contemporaneity. It is the first project conducted for Sah Studio. It was inspired by the Adjalalahomè of the Abomey kingdoms, a unique mud structure dedicated to the Kings of Danxomè; and by the Impluvium structure in the Allada Kingdoms. The aim was to combine the advantages of a passive building with the simplicity of a red cube. The use of local wood and compacted earth bricks was favored, with the emphasis on the central patio. The customer is an avid art lover and wanted his own private gallery to showcase his unique collection of artworks.
